Honestly Michael Jackson being dead represents what feels like a fundamental change in my life. Not that jacko has meant that much to me as an adult, but as a kid he meant a LOT.

I have to say, the worldis poorer today, at least in terms of inventive musical hooks, crotch grabbing, and bizarre behavior. Who will we look to for inexplicably strange quirks when Kim Jong il inevitably dies?

Next time I go out dancing I will wear a single black glove.

Sweet jesus. I think that might be the landromat lady. I've made it through four days of food poisoning without puking. Don't let me break now.

In addition to the other things covered in my last post I have now just finished a load out lasting 5.5 hours. Highlights include:
- rolling $100,000 worth of custom display cases around and breaking one.
- taking apart and moving a 16 foot bumblebee statue, a 12 foot optimus prime and a giant robot fist that was the heaviest thing in the world.
- loading a truck with one of those heavy duty hand trucks.

I feel like someone beat the shit out of me.

But it was still pretty awesome.

My weekend [May. 31st, 2009|02:53 pm]

In the past two days I have:
- been called "dog" by tyrese Gibson.
- shook weird al's hand and made him crack up.
- saw 5 minutes of the new transformers movie, introduced in person by michael bay in the paramount lot's test auditorium. These 5 minutes, by the way, pack as much awesome as the ENTIRE last movie.
- got a cocktail waitresses' phone number for some reason.
- spent two hours escorting guillermo del toro who, like me, cries every time he watches the Iron Giant, and who agrees with me that any movie can be improved by the addition of zombies, ninjas or hot lava. He asked for my phone number in case he needs security at comic con.
- sat on two panels and signed many autographs.

Sunrise [Mar. 31st, 2009|06:32 am]

This is my favorite time of the year. For the next couple of weeks the sun rises right behind the hancock tower as I ride across the mass ave bridge. It lights the whole city up. Sunlight hits the gold dome of the Capitol and explodes into the air, putting an exclamation on the end of winter. Fenway park glows green. I'm reminded just why I love Boston. There are few places so beautiful as Boston lit up by a spring sunrise.
